(i)

..

get on it chuck your face at it smother it

……………before you even get a sense of

……what it is or could be

if you must if you will

………………..it’s gonna die anyhow

……so who really cares about a bubble

..

……………..pricked or floating away

& chances are there for blowing

…………………………..forever

..

this is how we live now & maybe we’re right

……not to cling to any rock any shoulder

the boulders that weigh us down we thought of

……………………….as wondrous talismans

..

………can’t see that now see only

…..a burden let’s face it a big bloody millstone

………………weighing on our necks

..

so strip it all away all get moving cracking dancing

…………………….naked as the day of birth

…..maybe not literally

…………………………………but the spirit holds up

a mirror to the mind

..

…………..& this mind says I’m a shark & moving’s

…………………….not only all good but sine qua non

 ..

(ii)

..

on the other hand

……………………………take a look at this mister

your pension statement

…………………………………………………who’s been a clever boy then

………are you really chucking this up

………………….up where your own fundament

..

let’s talk a little straight sense here

…………………….why don’t you go have yourself a ball

…..get it all off the old chest you dig

………………………………do yourself an allover body favour

..

we’ll be looking the other way        you won’t lose face

……….just make out you got misquoted

………………………………with all that free bird jazz

..

yeah you’ll be on a leash but long & scarcely visible

……………….tied not to a person

…………………………………………but a row of figures

& when it’s all out of your system

..

& you’re ready to knuckle back settle back down

..

……………just raise your hand in the old familiar fashion

..

you won’t even hear the click of the cuffs

..
