Dominoes by Paul Point

Floorboards groan in

………a foreign tongue,

………………agony, cracking with

..

………………..throbbing waves.

………………..Life underfoot

..

……………….escapes.

..

……………Roof tiles chatting,

……….teeth flapping in a jaw.

……Tears, bricks, cascading

..

squares of the sky,

the ceiling began

..

……to bleed. Thick

..

………walls, thin panes,

………………ripping wide inhaling

……………………..spring dusk. We

..

……………………….both nod, exhale,

……………………….our home was

..

……………………..dying –

..

……………….all the night we

………tumbled, learning again

…..to embrace, held tight,

..

fell like dominoes

making love

..

…..in the rain.
